I love drinking out of Mason Jars!

My glass of choice? ...sorry I just took a sip of lemonade out of my mason jar ;)
Yes, a mason jar and that is what I wanted to have everyone drink out of at our wedding reception. Who seriously orders 400 mason jars? Oh we do! ...and they aren't the tiny ones either. They are the 32 oz Quart sized.

My labels are all cut and ready to be stuck on... here we go. Oh but there's more, not only are we putting the chalkboard label, but my mom has cut out pink and brown fabric squares to put on the lids to embrace my pink and brown color scheme.

I think they look great and everyone will enjoy filling these bad boys up to the brim and not have to worry about making quick trips to the bar or bringing back to cups of beer to last them for a few minutes. After attending all these weddings, I'm starting to pay attention to people's comments and concerns.

We ordered chalk and pink and white striped straws to help decorate the mason jars.

Finally getting to test drive my Cricut with chalkboard labels

I became obsessed with seeing the chalkboard labels everywhere and decided I could cut my own if I had a Cricut. I luckily received a Cricut Expression for Christmas, so we ordered 2 rolls of chalkboard vinyl online, which is about 20 yards. I wanted to make sure we had enough to cut 400 labels for our guests to have on their mason jars at the reception. I had to cut out 12" x 12" squares by using a scrapbook paper as my guide before putting the vinyl in the Cricut to cut out the labels.

After cutting out the 12" x 12" squares I put the vinyl on the mat and inserted in the feeder. I selected my label option Bookplt1 Shadow to cut 10 times.

I began a system after the starting the Cricut up. I would cut my 12" x 12" piece while the Cricut cut out 10 labels, then I would switch them out and start again. 40 pieces later I had 400 labels ready to be placed on mason jars.

The Announcement and First Few Plans

After we announced our engagements to our family, friends and members of our very large wedding party of 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsman, 2 ushers and 2 flower girls. We began the planning process. Knowing that Jeff was going to be in Columbia/Jeff City for work, I knew I needed to get a lot of planning done quickly because I would be job searching to relocate with my new fiance. So we quickly picked the day, July 7, 2012, the location, Rancho de Schlittler, my uncle's farm and the concept of a country wedding with BBQ, Beer in mason jars and lots of singing and dancing...think Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's wedding on a smaller budget. At my first wedding show I booked Fish Eye Fun and can't wait to have them as our photo booth vendor.
Me and Jeff's twin sister at the bridal show...she's getting married on 5-5-12. Jeff and I fixed her up with her future hubby :)

Why a Country Wedding?
Growing up I always pictured myself having this formal wedding, very fancy because that was what I thought a wedding was. After doing some heavy research at the nine weddings we attended in the past year, I decided it was more than fancy meals and banquet halls, I realized it was celebrating the marriage of me and Jeff and doing what we feel a celebration should be like. It made it easy to decide on our country wedding plans because we love what Country is all about and we tend to show that side more being two love birds from Jefferson County who met while attending Southeast in the bootheel.
